Before you write
A few things we can answer faster if you include them:
- If a quote does not match our range. Tell us the length, height, condition and rough location, and what you were quoted. These are the most useful messages we get, and they're how the rate model improves.
- If you think a figure is wrong. Point us at the page and, if you have one, a source. We'd rather be corrected than be confidently wrong.
- If you are a contractor. We are interested in what you actually charge and why. Real job costing beats published averages every time.
What we can't do
We don't quote for work and we don't carry out hedge trimming. We're an estimating tool, not a contractor, so we can't give you a binding price or come and look at your hedge. For that you need a local firm, and you should get at least two of them in writing.
We also can't mediate a dispute with a neighbour or a contractor, though our guides on boundary hedges and who pays for what cover the ground most people are asking about.
